Food, connection, and the quiet magic of cooking together
Terra Sensa - the Intuitive Art of Cooking with Senses
Terra {Earth} Sensa {senses}
Inspired by the richness of the earth and the depth of the senses my cookery school celebrates the art of cooking as a sensory journey. We connect ingredients to their origins, flavors to emotions, and technique to creativity-inviting you to experience food in a way that excites, inspires, and nourishes.
Forget recipes that tie you down. Forget measuring cups and strict rules. At Terra Sensa I believe cooking should be playful, intuitive, and deeply connected to nature. My sessions are designed to inspire creativity, helping you to trust your senses, explore new ingredients, and cook from the heart.
This isn’t your typical cooking school- it’s an invitation to awaken your curiosity, embrace the magic of plants, and discover the joy of cooking as an art form, not a chore. Each workshop is fun, interactive, and ends with a communal feast where we enjoy our creations together.
Cooking with plants isn’t about labels or restrictions-it’s about unlocking a world of vibrant flavors, colors, and textures that will change the way you think about food. It’s about celebrating nature’s abundance, getting creative with what’s in season, and making dishes that nourish both body and soul.
Whether it’s the deep umami of slow-roasted vegetables, the tangy brightness of fermented foods, or the comforting richness of a perfectly spiced stew, plant-based ingredients offer endless possibilities. My approach isn’t about substitution-it’s about inspiration, teaching you how to cook boldly, intuitively, and with a sense of adventure. Come with an open mind, leave with a full belly and a fresh perspective.
It all began with a pot of dhal
Vegan Magda Community Kitchen CIC grew from a very simple idea: that good food should feel accessible, joyful, generous, and shared.
It started with free dhal cooking classes — just a pot of lentils, a few spices, and a belief that cooking together could do something bigger than simply teach a recipe. The response was slightly wild, in the best possible way. The classes filled quickly, the waiting list grew, and it became very clear that people were hungry for more than just cooking tips. They were hungry for connection, confidence, community, and a different way of relating to food.
That is how the CIC was born.
Why this matters
I have always believed that plant-based food should not feel like a compromise, a punishment, or a sad little side dish hiding in the corner of the table. It can be abundant, exciting, deeply comforting, seasonal, affordable, and rooted in everyday ingredients.
Through the Community Kitchen, my aim is to make this kind of cooking more accessible — especially to people who may not usually be able to attend private cookery schools, chef-led workshops, or expensive wellness events.
This is not about perfection. It is not about becoming a “better” person overnight, buying a cupboard full of fancy ingredients, or learning restaurant tricks you will never use again. It is about real food, real hands, real tables, and learning skills that can come home with you.
What we do
Vegan Magda Community Kitchen CIC runs low-cost and community-focused cooking classes, workshops, and gathering-style food events from Terra Sensa, my cookery studio at The Retreat New Forest.
Past classes have included glorious beans, tofu without the trauma, sauce and crunch workshops, communal dinners, and hands-on sessions where we cook, taste, share, laugh, make a bit of mess, and leave with full bellies and new ideas.
Every class is built around ingredients rather than products. We focus on vegetables, pulses, grains, herbs, spices, ferments, sauces, texture, seasonality, and the kind of cooking that makes food feel alive. No fake meats, no ultra-processed shortcuts, no judgement — just proper flavour, practical skills, and a big communal table at the end.
More than a cooking class
The heart of this project is community.
So much of modern life is rushed, isolated, and disconnected from the basic things that ground us: cooking, eating together, using our hands, learning from each other, and sharing stories around a table.
The Community Kitchen is my way of creating a space where people can slow down, reconnect, and feel part of something. A place where beginners are welcome, nervous cooks are safe, curious eaters are celebrated, and plant-based food is explored with joy rather than pressure.
It is also a way of gently challenging the idea that good food has to be expensive, exclusive, complicated, or inaccessible.
Looking ahead
The future of Vegan Magda Community Kitchen CIC is full of ideas: more affordable cooking classes, fermentation workshops, kimchi gatherings, seasonal pop-ups, community feasts, food education projects, collaborations with local growers and makers, and classes that support people in cooking nourishing food with confidence.
The long-term dream is to grow this into a thriving community food programme — one that can offer real value, not only in the form of meals and recipes, but in confidence, connection, skills, and belonging.
Every catering booking, corporate event, private class, and collaboration through Vegan Magda and Terra Sensa helps make this work more sustainable. It allows the Community Kitchen to keep offering accessible classes and community-focused food experiences, while continuing to build something kinder, more connected, and rooted in care.
This is food with feeling.
This is community, cooked slowly.
This is Vegan Magda Community Kitchen CIC.

Why Terra Sensa is Different
Typical cookery classes:
Follow rigid recipes.
Measure every ingredient down to the last gram.
Learn 3-4 specific dishes, then leave.
The result?
You walk away with a few nice meals under your belt- but not the confidence to cook without a recipe or adapt to what’s in your fridge.
At Terra Sensa:
I don’t teach cooking by numbers- I teach it by intuition.
You’ll explore the why behind flavour combinations, textures, and techniques.
You’ll learn to taste, to adjust, to trust your instincts.
The difference?
You won’t just recreate a dish- you’ll understand it.
You’ll be able to improvise, substitute, and truly feel at home in your kitchen.
Cooking, the way it was always meant to be: rooted in nature, guided by your senses.
More than a Cooking Class- a Shared Experience
Forget staring at a recipe book, second-guessing yourself, or stressing over perfect knife skills-this is cooking, but not as you know it. With me, it’s all about getting stuck in, embracing the mess, and having fun. Worried you’ll burn something? Great, that’s how you learn! Not sure if you “know enough” to join? Trust me, if you can hold a spoon, you’re already halfway there.
I want you to play with your food-smell, taste, touch, and truly experience it. We’ll explore the magic of spices, discover the hidden potential of everyday ingredients, and learn to cook with what’s available rather than sticking to rigid recipes. It’s about trusting your instincts, using all your senses, and finding freedom in the process rather than following rules.
Cooking with me isn’t just about food-it’s about switching off from the outside world, slowing down, and reconnecting with something beautifully simple. It’s about going back to basics, making magic from humble ingredients, and discovering the true joy of cooking with your hands, your heart, and your intuition. Expect laughter, spontaneous ingredient discoveries, and that heartwarming moment when a group of strangers becomes a table of friends. No pressure, no pretension-just good food, good company, and a whole lot of delicious fun.
Cooking, Playing, Feasting- All in One Place
Who Is Terra Sensa For?
Typical plant-based cookery classes:
Cater strictly to vegans.
Preach lifestyle over flavour.
Leave non-vegans feeling like outsiders – or worse, judged.
The result?
Many food-curious people miss out on the beauty and versatility of cooking with plants – because they think it’s “not for them.”
At Terra Sensa:
You don’t need to be vegan. You just need to be curious.
We welcome flexitarians, meat-eaters, the uninspired, the adventurous, the stuck-in-a-rut cooks looking for a spark.
You’ll learn the magic of cooking with plants – how to make vegetables sing, how to layer flavour, how to create meals that feel deeply satisfying.
The difference?
I teach plant-based cooking not as a rule, but as a foundation.
You’ll discover how to adapt everything you learn to suit your own style, your own home, your own life.
This isn’t about labels. It’s about expanding your toolbox – and reawakening joy in the kitchen!
Not Just for Vegans
You don’t have to be vegan to love cooking with plants.
I love watching Masterchef. In fact, that is my cooking Uni, my learning, my obsession, my passion. And guess what- I am vegan, yet it doesn’t matter. Ok, I may turn my head away when they butcher a lamb or cut the fish’s head…But…
You’ll notice: meat and fish? Pretty straightforward.
Grilled. Pan-seared. Roasted.
But the magic? It’s in the sides — the sauces, the purées, the pickles, the veg.
That’s where the creativity lives.
That’s where plants shine.
At Terra Sensa, I teach you how to cook with plants in a way that’s sensory, instinctive, and rooted in nature.
You’ll build flavour, confidence, and intuition – skills you can use whether you’re cooking lentils or lamb chops.
No dogma. No labels.
Just a deeper connection to what’s on your plate – and where it came from.
